At SAP Sapphire 2026 this month, SAP unveiled one of the company’s biggest shifts in recent years, introducing its Autonomous Enterprise strategy and a new generation of AI-powered enterprise systems designed to move beyond assistance and toward autonomous execution across core business operations.

The announcements signal SAP’s broader move toward AI-enabled enterprise operations, with new capabilities designed to help organizations automate workflows, reduce manual processes, improve resilience, and respond faster in an increasingly complex operating environment.

While the global announcements were made in Orlando, the implications are particularly significant for fast-moving AI markets such as the UAE and Saudi Arabia, where governments and enterprises are accelerating investment in agentic AI, automation, cloud and intelligent digital infrastructure.

Please find attached the official SAP announcement for background, along with a regional perspective below from SAP’s Middle East Africa leadership on what this shift toward the Autonomous Enterprise could mean for organizations in the UAE and across the region.

Sergio Maccotta, Senior Vice President of SAP Middle East and Africa – South, comments:

“The UAE and the wider Middle East are among the most ambitious markets in the world for enterprise AI, and recent moves around agentic AI show how quickly the region is progressing from experimentation to execution. For businesses, the opportunity is no longer simply to use AI as a productivity tool, but to embed it into the systems and processes that run the enterprise. SAP’s Autonomous Enterprise strategy brings together Business AI, trusted data and applications so organizations can automate routine workflows, improve visibility and respond faster to change. In a region focused on resilience, competitiveness and long-term growth, this is a major step toward more connected and adaptive enterprises.”
