ARU House Of Calibration, a new community-led event concept dedicated to helping women refine how they are perceived in professional environments, will host its inaugural edition on Sunday, 5th July, at the stunning Uptown Social in the heart of Jumeirah Lake Towers, Dubai. Taking its name from the Kazakh word “aru”, a term of deep affection used to describe a woman of beauty, grace, and inner strength, ARU is created for women whose careers, responsibilities, and public presence are already full. Founders, executives, leaders, and client-facing professionals who are not building confidence from scratch, but refining how they are perceived, received, and understood in environments where they are often evaluated before they speak.

Confidence is rarely built alone. It is built in rooms where women feel seen, in conversations that go beyond small talk, and in communities that celebrate each other's wins as their own. ARU was founded on exactly that belief. In a city like Dubai, where women are leading companies, building businesses, and holding visible roles across industries while balancing family and personal responsibilities, presence has become as important as performance. Yet most spaces focused on women still centre around personal development or lifestyle redesigns that assume time, flexibility, and space for pause.

Created for women navigating leadership, growth, and increased visibility, ARU brings together practical, experience-led sessions that translate directly into how women are seen and heard in everyday situations - from boardrooms and client meetings to public-facing roles and leadership environments.

The inaugural edition promises a thoughtfully curated morning of practical calibration and presence refinement. The day opens with a focused facial expression and presence training workshop, where women explore how conscious control of facial expressions can shape how they are perceived, received, and understood in professional environments. This is followed by an expert-led skincare masterclass, where guests will learn how to better understand and care for their skin, along with a selection of exclusive goodies as a parting gesture.

ARU is not a one-day affair; it marks the beginning of an ongoing platform for women across the UAE to connect, exchange insight, and grow through shared experience. Through its monthly gatherings, ARU aims to become a trusted space for women’s development and connection.

What sets ARU apart from traditional women’s gatherings is its focus on tangible, practical value. Each session is designed so that women leave with skills they can apply immediately, while also spending time with peers who operate at a similar level of responsibility, visibility, and expectation.

“ARU comes from a very personal place,” says Houssem Jemli, Founder of ARU. “It was inspired by watching the women closest to me carry extraordinary levels of responsibility, visibility, and expectation, often without spaces that reflect the reality they are operating in. A key part of that perspective came from my mother, who, even while still in a position of responsibility, experienced a shift in her presence and authority over time. It made me reflect on how easily women can feel the weight of constant pressure when they are not supported, and how little the industry offers to help them maintain their presence while they are still in it.”

The event runs from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with tickets available for AED 120. Whether attending solo or with friends, every woman can expect to be welcomed into a gathering that feels less like an event and more like a homecoming.
