AI is not coming for your job. Someone who understands AI and utilizes it, IS.

Simple it may be, but it brings to the fore that YOU could be that person. It is not the weapon most people fear. It is the one who wields it. So be the person who wields it.

All this talk of AI going rogue, or being nationalized and run by governments against all of humanity, or AI could be weaponized or all the other existential threats to humanity that AI brings. We must rein in our fears and think positively. What AI is capable of may be exaggerated and blown out of proportion, but its benefits cannot be denied.

The speed of processing, the ability to sift through data to bring home a point, the potential to mitigate, if not end, the many malaises that haunt humanity, its ability to support productivity and amplify it, the enhancements it brings are immeasurable.

The pace of change has shifted the goalposts. They move with the times, and so should we.

The good news is that whatever functional silo or segment you may operate in, there are multiple AI tools to choose from. Generic productivity tools aside, specific tools abound and can be tweaked in many cases, to fit one’s specific requirements.

AI has also moved on. It is now longer about utilizing AI in your work. But, utilizing it effectively and ensuring the right tools are used for the right output. Understanding the potential, creating the environment, testing the waters, and inclusion. ChatGPT as the go-to AI tool to enable you to say yes, I use AI, is passe. Delve deeper.

There were times in the early days of AI when every AI tool that came out was being jumped on. With the advent of AI in everything, one must become discerning.

AI is not coming for your job, it is not taking over the world, it is not.

Upskilling and reskilling are no longer a nice-to-have. They are part and parcel of our lives since they are not something one needs to do once. It's ongoing.

Like a friend of mine once said:

“Be comfortable with being uncomfortable.

And

Be uncomfortable with being comfortable”

That’s the mantra we must now live.

Survival skills now must include AI. Make it part of your survival kit. Without it, the risk is not lurking nearby, it is existential.
