5th HR and People Development Summit, Dubai
Delegates settled in at the JW Marriot Hotel, Marina, for a packed schedule of vendor meetings, speaker sessions, and casual networking events. Over the 2 days, we facilitated over 220 pre-selected, personalised 1:1 meetings between delegates and our 17 unique and carefully selected vendors, benefiting both parties involved.
‘There was a good mix of vendors, some of them are very intriguing in terms of what we can really apply in our workspace. Lots of the vendors can add value to what we are looking for.’ Shirin Bamboat – VFS
A highlight from the event was the two keynotes presented by Kate Barker and Tariq Qureishy.
Kate is CEO & Board Advisor, External Advisor to BCG, McKinsey and EY, and has recently been ranked in the Top 50 Women Leaders. In her presentation, she explored the types of skills that future employees would need. Workers of the future will likely need more ‘soft skills’ such as communication, creativity, and problem-solving skills, whereas technical skills will largely be taken over by AI and robotics, therefore changing the way in which HR departments recruit and develop their employees.
Tariq has worked with some of the largest corporations such as The Times and Bloomberg Media. Presenting on ‘leading from the future’. Tariq took us to 2030, delivering to us the most relevant degrees and jobs. With jobs such as Vertical Farmers, Elderly Wellness Consultant and Climate Change Reversal Specialist all featuring in his top 10.
Both keynotes gave the audience interesting insights into the changes and challenges that HR Departments may have to face in the future.
As well as the keynotes, delegates were able to attend speaker sessions from leading industry experts on a range of topics such as AI in learning and development as well as mental health and wellbeing strategy. With a rich array of speakers, delegates were able to learn more about ongoing trends as well as discover what they may face in the future!
Kanushree Prasad & Shreea Mehra from Beiersdorf said – ‘I really liked how all the speakers were talking about different topics but then at the end of the 2 days, it felt like everything was converging into one. Nice convergence towards change, agility, data and AI and how that feeds into different parts of HR’
Overall, this event was thoroughly enjoyed by all attendees, allowing for connections and business relations to be formed!
